Directors listed here serve on both the board of CORE - Connected Organizations for a Responsible Economy, and the board of CORE Foundation. Each board has separate officers. Board members are elected to two-year terms, and can be re-elected twice, for a maxium total term of six years.



John DeRose

 

John is a member of Deloitte’s Global Sustainability & Climate Change (S&CC) services group. John has experience helping clients in variety of areas, including; strategy, controls & processes, internal audit, reporting, and report assurance. He also works closely with Deloitte’s global leadership and has managed the Audit and Enterprise Risk Services Global and US S&CC program management office (PMO) since their inception. John is frequently published on sustainability topics and is often asked to present on related topics at conferences and universities. He serves as a member of the University of Colorado’s Denver Business School Managing for Sustainability Advisory Council, which is a select group of Colorado sustainability professionals whose objective is to discuss current issues and practices in sustainability and how they should be integrated into the MBA and other sustainability education programs. John has represented Deloitte as part of the Sustainability Outlook program, a joint project with Business for Social Responsibility and the Institute for the Future. 

 

Christopher Juniper

 

Christopher Juniper implements sustainability solutions for organizations and governments. He is an economist by training and economic development manager, small business developer and consultant by profession. His "first" include the first major city in the US to adopt sustainable development in its economic development strategy as Policy Manager for the City of Portland, OR (1994); first US implementation of a sustainability-integrated environmental management system (1998) and first comprehensive corporate life-cycle assessment (Cliff Bar & Co., 2006). For the past ten years he has served Rocky Mountain Institute, the Catamount Institute and Natural Capitalism Solutions as a sustainability consultant and speaker, and served his alma mater The Colorado College as a visiting professor of ecological economics. Since 2002 he has served on the sustainaility implementation team of Fort Carson Mountain Post, a US Army installation of more than 20,000 soldiers and civilians that is a leader for the Department of Defence in integration of sustainability into its management systems. 

 

Carolyn McIntosh

 

Carolyn McIntosh is a Partner in the law firm of Patton Boggs in Denver, where she counsels clients on complex environmental compliance and environmental and natural resources litigation. Ms. McIntosh has extensive experience handling compliance and permitting matters, including air, water, solid and hazardous waste issues. Ms. McIntosh has represented the City and County of Denver, and the States of Colorado and Montana in major Superfund litigation and environmental compliance matters, including Lowry Landfill, the Denver Radium Sites and Uravan. She also regularly provides environmental due diligence counseling. Ms. McIntosh has also served on a number of local government boards and commissions, including 12 years on the Lafayette City Council, the last four years of which she served as the Mayor of Lafayette. Ms. McIntosh served for three years on the Boulder County Long Range Planning Commission, and four years on the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District. Additionally, for 10 years Ms. McIntosh served on the Denver Regional Council of Governments Board, and served for four years on the Metro Mayor’s Council. She was also a founding member of the Northwest Parkway Public Highway Authority. 

 

Jeffrey Nathanson

 

Jeffrey Nathanson is the Executive Director of Business Development at National Jewish Medical and Research Center. Mr. Nathanson is responsible for the management and growth of the National Jewish New Business Opportunities Unit within the Health Initiatives Department. He is charged with the development of new health-oriented revenue-generating business opportunities provided by National Jewish staff in their laboratories, clinical and call centers; to financially support some of its leading edge clinical activities and medical research. Mr. Nathanson previously served as President and CEO of BioLogixs in Denver, Executive Director for Colorado Bio-Medical and Technology Venture Centers, of Denver and Executive Director of the New Mexico Business Innovation Center Inc., in Albuquerque New Mexico. Jeffrey was one of the founders and early Board Members of the Colorado CleanTech Initiative and the Colorado Biotechnology Industry Organization and the Colorado Medical Device Association. He currently is a panelist for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Industry Growth Forum. Jeffrey holds a B.A. degree in Environmental Studies from the Univesity of California, Santa Barbara, and an M.S. Degree in Environmental Management and Communications, from the University of Michigan.

 

Susannah Pedigo


Susannah L. Pedigo is the Manager of Renewable Energy Products and Services for Xcel Energy, the fifth-largest investor-owned utility in the US.  She manages all aspects of renewable energy generation for Xcel's eight state service territory from its Denver office, including product development, stakeholder relations, strategic planning, and organizational change.  Prior to joining Xcel Energy in 2007, she served the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's solar program and the land-use planning operations of David Jensen Associates and the City of Broomfield.  She is a Board Member of Women in Sustainable Energy (WISE), and serves as an Executive Mentor for the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business.  She holds an MBA from the University of Denver and BS from Purdue University.


Lindsay Ritter


As the Sustainability Director for CH2M Hill's Operations & Maintenance Business Group, Lindsay Ritter catalogs best practices, develops stakeholder awareness and integrates sustainable solutions into project delivery.  She developed and leads the company's operations and maintenance sustainability program that empowers CH2M employees to enhance the environment and generally improve the quality of life in their communities.  She also serves CH2M's Enterprise Sustainability team, a cross-discipline group chartered with building its sustainable solutions business and deliver complex sustainability projects.  When first starting with CH2M Hill in 2006, Ms. Ritter served on CH2M Hill’s incorporation team for the City of Johns Creek, Georgia.  Her responsibilities included the establishment of the city’s facilities, as well as development of a sustainability program focused on Johns Creek’s solid waste and storm water management.

Jeffrey Yorzyk

 

Jeffrey Yorzyk has been on the CORE Board of Directors since its inception, and has been active in sustainable business initiatives in Colorado for over ten years. His professional focus is on the development and implementation of systematic approaches for continuous improvement and conducting quantitative environmental life cycle assessment (LCA) studies. As a consultant for Five Winds International, Jeff has been instrumental in facilitating ISO 14001 certification at Denver International Airport and the City and County of Denver. Jeff has also led numerous projects that allowed clients to quantify their product, process and facility “environmental footprint” and develop associated communications strategies and materials. Mr. Yorzyk is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado, holds an MBA from the University of Colorado at Boulder Leeds School of Business, an MS in Environmental Science & Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Lafayette College. Originally hailing from Massachusetts, Jeff has lived and worked in the Denver region since 1994 and enjoys hiking, running, snowshoeing, wilderness backpacking trips and motorcycle touring.
