Cleantech in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains! Where Are We?
Colorado Cleantech Cluster Analysis - Final Report
If you want to know what's REALLY going on in cleantech in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region, you'll want to join us on Wednesday, December 2, when CORE will host a lunchtime event that will bring you up to date on the latest information about the local and regional cleantech industry.
CORE has now completed the first comprehensive study of the entire cleantech industry in Colorado and its supporting infrastructure from research laboratories, to funding sources to educational institutions. Not only has this study developed the most complete database of participants in this nascent Colorado industry, it has also surfaced a list of action items that can form the basis of a genuine strategic plan for the state to encourage the robust development of this promising new industry as a driver of economic development.
Jane Evenson of Evenson & Associates, who has conducted the study for CORE, will present its key findings, which we think you'll find enlightening..... and you'll also be surprised at some of the challenges to this embryonic industry, which are often regulatory and institutional rather than technological!
Cleantech Open: Rocky Mountain and National Winners Update
CORE is also proud to be the fiscal sponsor of the Cleantech Open, Rocky Mt. Region. CORE's Executive Director, Graham Russell, has been the Judging Chair in this first year of the CTO in the Rocky Mountain Region and, by the time you get to our lunch on December 2, the three winners from our region will have competed in the national finals in California on November 17. Perhaps we'll have a regional winner on our hands, further enhancing the reputation of this region as a fast-growing incubator of technology that will play a key role in shaping the future sustainability of our global economy.
Dr. Dick Franklin, Executive Director of the CTO, Rocky Mountain Region, will talk to us about the regional winners, what emerged from the national finals in CA and the future of the CTO nationally and internationally.
You'll also hear from Don Marostica, Colorado Office of Economic Development & Andre Pettigrew, Denver Office of Economic Development on the importance of the cleantech industry to Colorado's future economic development.
CORE has been at the forefront of cleantech in Colorado almost since the word was coined. We hope you'll join us on December 2 to share the important things we're learning.
