Power Tagging – Making Power Smarter

Power Tagging has developed a new technology for injecting digital signatures into the power signal itself.  This empowers a new generation of smart applications in areas including electric vehicle integration, roaming and billing, grid security, fault isolation, load management and grid cybersecurity.

JOHN LOPORTO: President and CEO of Power Tagging has experience both in the start-up realm and in F500 companies.  Mr. LoPorto holds an engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and completed graduate business studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

CleanCoal Briquette, Inc.

(CCBI) has developed a proprietary technology that combines two industrial waste streams into an engineered fuel briquette.  Our fuel briquette is composed of a combination of fly ash, a waste product from the combustion of coal in a stoker fired coal power plant, and biomass, a general term for plant material.  The process has been demonstrated at a commercial scale and will provide a variety of benefits to the coal-burning power industry, such as a reduction of power generation costs, a reduction of required coal tonnage, elimination of fly ash as a problematic waste stream, cleaner air emissions, and no modification to existing regulatory permits.

CCBI is affiliated with the incubator Renova Capital group and was incorporated by RAVI MALHOTRA in 2008.  Mr. Malhotra is also the Executive Director of iCAST and the primary advisor for this project. Mr. Malhotra has managed bio-energy projects internationally and has consulted on numerous business development efforts as well as firsthand experience establishing new business  ventures, having established two entrepreneurial ventures of his own.
