Tour of the EPA LEED Gold Certified Building
The new facility that EPA Region 8 now occupies was designed with the environment in mind. The upper levels of the building features a 20,000 square foot green roof that minimizes heat island effects and absorbs carbon dioxide. Water conservation is maximized through low-flow plumbing fixtures and low-maintenance landscape design using native species. Waste reduction and recycling is accomplished with the selection of materials with post-consumer recycled content, recycling construction waste, and designing space for ongoing recycling efforts. Also included in the tour is a visit with Rob Heneke, Director of the EPA Resource Library.
For security purposes, you must bring a photo ID, such as a driver's license, with you. Also, you must pass through a metal detector in order to enter the building.
The event will begin with a networking breakfast at Dixon's from 7:30-8:45. We will then walk 1/2 block to the EPA Region 8 Headquarters. Our tour will run from 9:00-10:00.
Space is limited to 45 attendees, so register early to guarantee your place!
